Want to help,
but don’t have a gown?

Here are other ways you can support Gowns4Good.

Option 1: Contribute to shipping & logistical costs

Although we’re asking individual gown donations to be mailed directly to medical facilities, there are still hospitals and other care centers that cannot receive individual shipments for logistical reasons. So we’re bundling gowns to support these facilities.

Can you help contribute to offset special-order shipping and other logistical costs?

Option 2: Host a collection box or community drive

  1. Get a box: Label a box (cardboard box, plastic bin, wooden box) with “Gowns4Good” and place outside in a safe, visible, easily accessible area. The best location is curbside to keep folks in their vehicles.

[Recommended: ask local schools or businesses to host a box!]

  2. Set a date & spread the word: Reach out to friends, neighbors, schools, and businesses in your community to let them know you are collecting gowns. Advertise a single day to host a gown drive, or a string of days when the box will be accessible for drop offs. Post on social media draw more attention (remember to tag us too! #Gowns4Good). Remind folks that gowns should be clean and in their own plastic bags, as much as possible.

  3. Collect gowns (safely!): Always practice social distancing per CDC guidelines. Do not encourage folks to congregate, and ideally have the box accessible so people do not have to get out of their car.

This is really important so we’re going to say it again in big letters:

    PRACTICE SAFE SOCIAL DISTANCING

  4. Count up your gowns (safely!): To count up the gowns after they are collected, please (1) wait at least 3 days, (2) wear a mask and gloves, and (3) be sure to wash your hands afterwards.

  5. Fill out a donation form: Go to gowns4good.net/donate-gowns and fill out the form, letting us know how many gowns you collected and selecting from the list of facilities where you would like to donate.

  6. Pack up your gowns: Place the plastic-bagged gowns in packaging of your choice, and include a note so the contact receiving your package knows what it is (here’s an easy template). Close/wrap with tape to seal appropriately, and write “Gowns4Good PPE Donation” on your package (either in the return address or written obviously on the package).

  7. Ship: Ship or otherwise transport your package to the address listed for your chosen medical facility in need!

Want these instructions in an easy, single place? Here’s a quick how-to on hosting a collection box or community drive:

Option 3: Recruit your school(s)

We are so grateful to all of you that have donated one or a handful of gowns! YOU ROCK and we could not do this without you.

Now, the way we can really scale our efforts is by reaching out to universities, where there is a significantly greater supply of graduation gowns. Here’s where you come in: would you be willing to reach out to your high schools, colleges, and universities and ask them to donate gowns? To make it REALLY easy, we’ve drafted a sample email for you to send to any and all contacts at your former school(s).

Option 4: Help us spread the word on social media

Want another option that takes just a few minutes? With one share on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn, you can help us amplify our message to more viewers — and ultimately get more gowns into the hands of healthcare workers.

Please give us a share/like/retweet, and don’t forget to use the hashtag #Gowns4Good!
